New Mount Pleasant DC Website Launches

In many ways, this website is a reflection of the neighborhood it describes. It exists through the generosity and dedication of many different members of the community, strengthened by a shared purpose to sustain and promote the many organizations, institutions and businesses that bring us together.

There are many organzations that have contributed and supported the development of this website over the years, most notably Historic Mount Pleasant, Mount Pleasant Main Street, ANC 1D and the Mount Pleasant Business Association. The vision is for this site to be a central hub of important and useful information for those who are interested in partcipating in the community.

Each of the organizations above are separate and distinct; this site is not meant to speak for any one of them. Historic Mount Pleasant and ANC 1D both have their own websites. In order to conserve resources, the Mount Pleasant Business Association and Mount Pleasant Main Street have both elected to host their web presence on this site. The Business Directory is maintained by the Mount Pleasant Business Association.

Are you a member of the community and wish to help improve and maintain this website? Please contact us so we can start working together.

Thank you!

On Sunday, December 3, 2017 the Bancroft Elementary PTO and the Mount Pleasant Business Association jointly hosted the second Tree Sale and Holiday Party on Mount Pleasant Street.

From 10am to 4pm, Bancroft PTO volunteers gathered in the parking lot of McCormick Paints, a sponsor of the event. They set up the trees, wreathes, and other holiday decorations for shoppers. A sure sign of success was that by the end of the day, there were only a few left.

At the other end of the street, in the middle of Lamont Park, the Mount Pleasant Business Association and Mount Pleasant Main Street brought together neighborhood organizations and businesses together to host a Puppet Show, Face Painting, and an early visit from Santa Claus, with his friends, the Three Kings.
